Creative Time is known as much for its support of ambitious, innovative art projects as it is for its fearless engagement with the most fraught current events of the day — but most of the time, these take place in NYC. Over several weeks earlier this year, they supported UK artist Jeremy Deller's open-door discussion series It Is What It Is: Conversations About Iraq at the New Museum in New York, for which everyone from refugees and reporters to students and soldiers were invited to participate. After leaving NYC in an RV to recreate those conversations across the country, Deller arrives in Westwood this month — where new discussions unfold, and the entire project's results are exhibited through May.
