For the second annual Los Angeles Art Weekend, ForYourArt and BlackFrame single out the city's vast cultural resources with a four-day immersion in local arts. What began as a system for visiting arts writers to explore LA's creative heterogeneity has evolved into a yearly public affair — 2009 highlights include Thursday night's Art Weekend launch party at the Hollywood Standard; the Culver City Gallery Walk Friday evening; Late Night Art of Berlin at LACMA on Saturday night; and Sound of LA: Chango Spasiuk at the Getty Center on Sunday afternoon. Also be sure to check out Postopolis!, a concurrent series of talks about architecture held on the rooftop of the Downtown Standard.
