Art

Lizabeth Eva Rossof and David Fokos

While much of Lizabeth Eva Rossof's visual art might recall the colorful confectionary treats of our youth, it actually focuses on the media's power to interpret and present key issues — particularly those pertaining to politics and sexuality. Examining how words have become distorted and redefined through popular culture, Rossof employs the Braille alphabet to visually represent those that have become overused and depleted of meaning. Also on view are new works by San Diego-based photographer David Fokos, whose images use long exposures to comment on the objective nature of perception, and the intensely personal experience of seeing.
