Curated by Hedi El Kholti and David Jones, this wide-ranging group show uses broken-down stereotypes to reveal the multiplicity of a gay-male culture obscured by assumption. Photography and documentary video provide glimpses into small-town drag scenes and big-city protests; other work plays serious dress-up in examination of both literal and metaphoric gender-masking. The Company makes use of all its rooms, as well as its outdoor screening garage, in service of this complex, entertaining, and ultimately enlightening romp through some very serious history.
