Note:
The gallery hosts a closing reception for the artist on Wednesday, May 13 (7-10pm).
Alan Aldridge was a legend in the world of psychedelic illustration even before he created his landmark 1969 book, The Beatles Lyrics Illustrated. As a friend, muse, collaborator, and visual translator for rockers from John Lennon and Elton John to Sting and even, uh, Incubus, Aldridge has influenced and inspired generations of progressive artists and musicians. Along the way, he's met some pretty interesting characters and had quite a number of unlikely adventures; luckily, he's also just written his autobiography, copies of which are available for sale and signing at the exhibition's opening reception.
