Long before the first Downtown Art Walk, the Venice Art Walk & Auctions took art lovers on mouthwatering tours of galleries on the west side. Tonight at Laddie John Dill's studio, the Donut Jamboree Art Happening celebrates the seaside art festival's 30th anniversary, with proceeds benefiting the Venice Family Clinic. Sharing its name with Kenny Sharf's multimedia homage to sweetened dough, the event features an auction of Scharf's works, along with tunes by KCRW DJs, live music, a performance by Hoopnotica, and a "Digital Donut Gallery projected-art exhibition." On top of beer, wine, and other treats, the Fry Girl serves up freshly-fried cakes, without which no true Donut Jamboree would be complete.
