This week marks the event's third LA GrandSLAM, wherein ten champion StorySLAM hotshots tell five-minute true tales — this time on the theme "Feast or Famine." Among the skilled raconteurs entertaining us while Rome burns are a psychotherapist, a reformed Seventh Day Adventist, a reality-show producer, a swamp queen, and a two-time returning champion. Guest judges Jason Bentley (KCRW), Moon Unit Zappa, and VH-1's Jackie Clark rate the contestants, and the winning yarn will be featured on the Moth's hit podcast (which recently spent three weeks at No. 1 on iTunes) — assuming we all live that long.
