Actor and writer Eric Bogosian takes part in the Central Library's ALOUD conversation series this evening to discuss his latest novel, Perforated Heart. A nostalgic revisiting of 1970s New York City, the story profiles the same character at two different points in time, juxtaposing the idealism of a young, urban upstart against the angst of his jaded, world-weary older self. Joining Bogosian is author and screenwriter Jerry Stahl, whose own dalliances, boldly chronicled in his addiction memoir Permanent Midnight, guarantee a lively tête-à-tête about struggling to locate the creative spirit in a commercially driven universe.
