Produced by Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney), the latest Indigo Girls arrival, Poseidon and the Bitter Bug, signals a scaled-down approach compared to previous outings. Awash with the group's signature harmonies and accompanied by lush backgrounds, the songs are less traditional pop-folk than they are a mature mélange of new sounds — the pair even flirts with R&B on the gorgeous album opener, "Digging for Your Dream." What hasn't changed is the Girls' commitment to social causes. Tonight's show partners them with Rock for a Remedy, an organization committed to pairing national artists with local food-relief organizations. Bring canned goods to donate to the cause.
