Each show is $13. Passes to all five shows are available for $65, which includes free soda, popcorn, and a dinner on Saturday night at 8:00pm.
In conjunction with the LA Filmforum and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, the Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theater presents a weekend-long symposium on orphan films — short-lived flicks with vague origins and uncertain copyrights that have hovered along the film industry's periphery, until now. The NY-based event travels west for a lineup that features the best of previous symposiums, which have been ongoing since 1999, with the lost-and-found footage grouped thematically into five individual programs. Topics include "Saving Orphan Films in the Digital Age," "On Location: Place and Region in Forgotten Films," "The State," and more.
