The Silent Movie Theatre says…

Beautifully shot in the streets of 1950s Paris, The Red Balloon tells the story of a young boy's adventures with a willful balloon. Albert Lamorisse directed his own son in the featurette, and the film's sparse use of dialogue has enabled international audiences of all ages to appreciate the charming, mid-century fairy tale. Dublab and LA Record co-present tonight's screening of the beloved classic at the Silent Movie Theater, with live accompaniment courtesy of asDSSkA and Lucky Dragons. Following the film (which clocks in at just under 35 minutes), the Los Angeles Ladies' Choir takes the stage for a lively sing-along, in the spirit of the Cinefamily's feel-good Fuzzy Felt Films series.
