May 28, 2009 – July 18, 2009
Tuesdays–Saturdays (10am–6pm)
As a photography student at LA's Occidental College in 1980, Lisa Jack took a series of portraits with a handsome, charismatic subject, "Barry" Obama. She eventually shelved the negatives, opting to become a psychology professor instead of a professional photographer — but 20 of those images are now back on display in West Hollywood's M+B Gallery. Alternately ponderous, amused, smoldering, and humble, the laid-back yet intense, panama hat-wielding future president emerges from the visual archive to offer us a new glimpse of his early years.
