After stunning critics with her 2007 debut, Marry Me, crystal-voiced Brooklyn crooner St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) returns with an impressive sophomore album. From opener "The Strangers" to the gorgeous first single, "Actor Out of Work," the former Polyphonic Spree member's second full-length continues where the cinematic stylings of her debut left off. Clark has said that she wanted to make these songs "technicolor animatronic rides," and Actor succeeds in taking listeners on a totally original journey.
