With Contemporary Sacred, Dance Camera West deepens its mission to open windows for exploring films that broaden our perspective on dance's rich, multifaceted heritage and traditions — especially as it operates in tandem with other cultural forms. Bringing together two documentaries featuring First Nation and Native American artists Byron Chief-Moon and Jock Soto, this installment of DCW's festival penetrates the process and purpose of those with a commitment to their cultures, and to the traditions and rituals contained within them.
