Rising from the ashes of her previous band, the Distillers, Brody Dalle's Spinnerette is a musical beast of quite a different breed. Working with musician extraordinaire Alain Johannes (Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age), Dalle has crafted an album's worth of dark pop confections, as catchy and hummable as they are ominous. The band centers around the charismatic frontwoman's one-ring circus act, with the live lineup almost entirely different from the studio crew; the emphasis being on the point that this is truly Brody's show, and you'll be hard-pressed to walk out of her parlor intact.
