In addition to expo staples like trade shows and guest speakers, the three-day-long Dwell on Design hosts home tours, outdoor film screenings, and Mobius LA, the American Institute of Architects' design conference. Among the most innovative components of "the West Coast's Largest Modern Design Event" is Square Meal Sunday, an entire day set aside to examine the mouthwatering crossover between food and design. With panel discussions like The Gestalt of Meat, a restaurant design award, and a contest to come up with the most architecturally relevant name for an ice-cream sandwich, the folks at Dwell have officially given us the go-ahead to use food as creative raw material.
