Outpost for Contemporary Art takes its name literally this month, as it presents an offshoot project of Apex Art, a New York-based hub of experimentation. Apex heads west thanks to the League of Imaginary Scientists, which lured Apex away from Lower Manhattan with a winning exhibition proposal. Though LA may seem the obvious choice for a traveling New York art maven, the League's Terence McKenna-meets-Weird Science approach to experiential aesthetics beat out 464 other submissions to win the Franchise-contest title. Reasons to visit Outpost include but are not limited to: supporting the home team and discovering the meaning of life on Earth.
