Ballet Hispanico is a 13-member company that meshes ballet, modern, and Latin dance against the backdrop of progressive Latino culture. Four pieces will be performed at the Ahmanson during the company's limited run: "Club Havana," choreographed by Cuban native Pedro Ruiz; "Tres Bailes," three powerful dances set to the music of the Gotan Project and others; "Ritmo y Ruido," an exploratory piece celebrating hip-hop and Afro-Cuban rhythms; and the much-anticipated West Coast premiere of "Destino Incierto," a modern interpretation of the lives of Carmen, Don Jose, and Escamillo.
