Crewest Gallery says…

A former Red Car route, the Belmont Tunnel ceased subway operations in 1955 and was partly filled-in with the Bonaventure Hotel's foundations. The disused concrete walls became a mecca for the LA graffiti scene, with world-class writers leaving their marks on a regular basis, transforming the neglected tunnel into a riot of color (as seen in the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge" video). Now buried beneath a condo development, the Belmont Tunnel is still revered by the international street-art community, and Crewest's "Legendary Belmont Tunnel" commemorates the iconic graff spot with work from its featured artists, including Cab, Man One, and Saber.
