Rob and Christian Clayton's first hometown exhibition in over half a decade, Jumbo Fruit represents the culmination of six months' worth of the pair's trademark joint artistic expression. Eight pieces within the main gallery are supported by a collection of smaller drawings and paintings in the east gallery. Using the classic Flemish still-life staple, the bowl of fruit, as its starting point, the series morphed into a surreal reflection pondering the size of fruit in space. Transcending the importance of the subject in art history, the mixed-media wonderland engineered by the brothers serves as a visual record of their free-associative creative process and its many juicy detours.
