Octomom: The Musical places pop-cultural satire in good hands. However obvious the conceit may be, director Chris Voltaire uses it well to beat up on American over-indulgence, and his best weapon is bawdy, rapid-fire cabaret song and dance. Highlights include the "Octo-dance" and the many Octo-scary stares, plus the requisite cameo by a cardboard Angelina Jolie. The diverse cast members sing their butts off on the 14 original show tunes, helping to chalk this one up like the story that inspired it — a guilty pleasure of American-style outsized proportions.
