Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Thursday July 23, 2009 (8–11pm)
Hammer Museum
10899 Wilshire Blvd

A gang of merry musicians led by former Ima Robot frontman, Edward Sharpe (aka Alex Ebert), folk revival collective Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros appears at the Hammer courtyard tonight. The collective brings tambourines, accordions, horns, strings, and love-spreading hippie vibes, traveling via an old-timey school bus. Their new EP, Up From Below, is at once throwback and throw-forward, possessing a looseness and complexity best experienced live. Come early for melodic shoegazing courtesy of Eskimo Hunter.
