Eric Owen Moss and Jeffrey Kipnis: If Not Now, When? at SCI-Arc. Installation view.
Wednesday July 29, 2009 (7pm)

Note:
The exhibition continues through Sept 13.
Eric Owen Moss Architects' If Not Now, When? addresses the disparities between the limitless capacity of an architect's imagination and the practical limits of industrial technology. Tonight's conversation revisits two project sites where those disparities were paramount — the 1998 Wexner Center for the Arts exhibition, Fabrications, and the dramatic, long-delayed, recently re-approved Bondage glass tower at La Cienega and Jefferson. If Not Now, When? examines the shortcomings of the urban grid system, as well as other hard-and-fast civil engineering principles. Tonight, SCI-Arc hosts an exhibition review and talk between its director, Eric Owen Moss, and curator of architecture and design at the Wexner Center for the Arts, Jeffrey Kipnis.
