Bootie is the original, and still the best, party when it comes to dropping genre-crossing mashups on (sometimes costumed) beat freaks. The shindig is arguably responsible for carving out an entirely unique style of music, in which '80s hits, hip-hop beats, and hard-rock riffs melt into each other to create a new level of groove. The monthly Bootie LA features resident selectors in the form of legendary mashup DJ Paul V. and DJ Shyboy, along with the RAID (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance) booty-shaking crew.
