The Hive Gallery teams up with Downtown LA's Old Bank DVD for weekly Wednesday-night free movies and popcorn. Tonight, George Orwell's 1984 meets Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club in the film adaptation of Koushun Takami's 1999 novel Battle Royale, featuring comedian, filmmaker, writer, poet, and Japanese icon "Beat" Takeshi Kitano. Aiming to screen documentaries, cult films, and other flicks that get lost in the deluge of mainstream media, the Hive is also keeping its ear to the ground by welcoming further film recommendations.
