The latest salvo in Carmichael Gallery's one-shop battle to raise the domestic profiles of European graffiti stars features British and German practitioners of the posted and sprayed. In the gallery's main space, London-based Eine creates a version of his mammoth wall installs, using large-format text to assemble jubilant and surreal images-as-message. His pasted graphics riff on tagging — itself essentially a process of refining an identifiable, original "font" — in elevating typographical design to a sovereign form of communication. In the project space, meanwhile, German street muralists Frerk and Marc C. Woehr work their spray-can magic in a site-responsive assault on their greatest foes: blank walls.
