While Nabokov may have preferred Cat and Mouse to Candyland, Valley of the Dolls' Lolita Tea Party promises a life-size version of the confectionary board game alongside cupcake and cotton candy stands, high tea served by Japanese Lolitas in French maid attire, beats by Tune in Tokyo, and a Lolita-inspired fashion show. Sure to produce a sugar high, the afternoon-into-evening event takes place at Culver City's artspace/café, Royal/T, featuring founder Susan Hancock's robust contemporary, Japanese-oriented collection. Come in candy-themed costume and strike up conversations with the southland's most ardent doll collectors.
