Fans of mid-century Polynesian pop culture and Angelenos aching for a getaway are invited to a three-day celebration of all things Tiki at the Crowne Plaza San Diego. Known as "the first man" in Māori mythology, the Tiki god manifests in carvings which have evolved into an iconic American emblem, celebrated this weekend in a spirited, sun-drenched program. Ongoing surf and exotica provide the soundtrack to a weekend of Tiki vendors and sultry dancers, supported by an inspired itinerary of lectures, book signings, dance classes, contests, and more.
