The second most consumed drink next to water, tea has also been frequent theme in art history. Guest curated by tea scholar Beatrice Hohenegger, the Fowler Museum at UCLA's latest exhibit chronicles the beverage throughout the centuries and across Asia, Europe, and America. Using original paintings, ceramics, various tea paraphernalia, vintage stereopticon slides, and even clothing, Steeped in History: The Art of Tea honors the enduring properties of the leaves of the evergreen shrub, serving as a gentle reminder that in spite of modern life's pervasive stressors, there's always time for tea.
