Note:
The Downtown Film Festival continues through August 22 at various Downtown venues.
Held in conjunction with the Downtown Film Festival, Sustainable LA hits 7+Fig's Ernst & Young Plaza for an "all-day green event," featuring a farmers market, expo, a wide array of speakers, and of course, films. Seeking to educate the public on the benefits of sustainability, the fourth annual film-inspired conference features talks and book signings by chefs, environmentalists, food writers, entrepreneurs, holistic healers, ecotourism experts, and more. It also marks the LA premiere of Barbara Ettinger's documentary, A Sea Change, which focuses on the precarious state of the world's waters. Eco-centric folks are invited to stick around for a reception at the AT&T Center following the event, as well as a late-night after-party for A Sea Change at nearby lounge du jour, Blue Velvet.
