Edith Heath
Sunday Aug 30, 2009 (2–3pm)
FREE with admission: $7 adults / $5 students & seniors / FREE for PMCA members
Join us for a panel discussion on Edith Heath and Heath Ceramics.
Edith Heath began as a studio potter in San Francisco and established Heath Ceramics in 1947 to meet the growing demand for her dinnerware and accessories. She focused on simple, minimalist style although her process was characterized by innovation and experimentation. Her use of unique glazes and clay underscored her belief that quality does not have to be sacrificed for mass production and accessibility.
Panelists include:
Cathy Bailey, Owner of Heath Ceramics
Ron Radziner, Architect Marmol Radziner
Bill Stern, Director of the Museum of California Design.
