“Whether the product of sheer creative license or shrewd marketing heads, the movie poster has inspired as much debate as the feature film industry. This exhibition celebrates the best and the rest of celluloid poster art, and ask some topical graphic design questions: Can a poster determine a movie's ultimate success? And what elements combine to create an audience-pleasing aesthetic?”
This new exhibition showcases 1950s-‘80s hand-drawn movie posters and the creative process of designing them. Check out multiple poster concepts for films like The Great Escape and In the Heat of the Night.
Location: Academy's Grand Lobby Gallery, 8949 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, CA 90211
