Serving music-forward tunes to a laid-back LA crowd, tonight's Funky in the Middle/Tighten Up party imports West London (by way of New Zealand) son Mark de Clive-Lowe. Known for funky, syncopated beats, de Clive-Lowe has been a major force in the new West London sound, dropping a slate of celebrated remixes, productions, and DJ sets. Some call it 2-step, others nu-jazz or nu-house; whatever it is, de Clive-Lowe's sound, like that of contemporaries Bugz in the Attic, 4Hero, and IG Culture, is best experienced live. His sharing the decks with frequent collaborator Karizma will only make the dance floor that much more irresistible.
