TarFest takes over the one-mile stretch of cultural institutions nestled along Wilshire Boulevard, which is home to the El Rey Theatre, LACMA, the Craft and Folk Art Museum, the Petersen Automotive Museum, and the Page Museum. Art lovers and cinephiles will find ongoing exhibits and film programs at the Korean Cultural Center, as the glamorous El Rey transforms into the unofficial TarFest music venue. Saturday night's show includes the Polyamorous Affair, DeJa Franciose, VJ Mr. Cocoon, eskimohunter, and DJ Macaya in an evening curated by Mark Sovel and TarFest's presenters, the Miracle Mile Players. Those not yet overwhelmed with culture are invited to participate in a 5K and one-mile run on Sunday — the Miracle Mile Grand Prix.
