Bright Young Thing Jeni Spota has her second solo show this September with Kathryn Brennan Gallery, formerly Sister, in Chinatown. Fool's Small Victory includes four paintings, which combine her unique visual language with references to the ornate frames of paintings and borders in architecture of the early Italian Renaissance. The miniaturized canvases feel larger-than-life thanks to their densely packed figuration and exaggerated brushwork.
