The LA International Photographic Art Exposition comes to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for its 19th-annual three-day photo festival. Dozens of international galleries and publishing houses set up shop, delivering the finest in vintage and contemporary photography, along with selections of photo-based art. This year marks the debut of the Lapis Press and Schaden's The La Brea Matrix, in which six German art photographers use Stephen Shore's 1975 picture of the corner of Beverly and La Brea as a point of reference. Visitors also have the opportunity to get a sneak preview of the Museum of Latin American Art's exhibit, Changing the Focus: Latin American Photography (1990-2005).
