STOMP, the physical theatre troupe originally from the UK, has evolved into a full-scale ensemble that uses percussion, body movement, comedy, and other unorthodox elements in its performances. Nearly 20 years in the making, it has recently expanded into STOMP OUT LOUD, the resident show in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, where the hotel and casino put up $28 million to build a theater especially for the production. Now, STOMP gets back to its roots with a limited engagement at the Pantages Theatre, paring down the performers to the original number of eight. While this incarnation may be more true to the original, it also features two comprehensive, never-before-seen routines, reminding audiences why they fell in love with the garbage-can-banging clan in the first place.
