“Kamrooz Aram and Artemio engage in an unhinging of the standard mechanisms of image-making, challenging social norms in the process. Artemio's debut of a site-specific talavera tile installation outside of the gallery's entrance is an intricate manipulation of shapes, that upon closer inspection reveals rifles, guns, knives, and other forms of weaponry littering the landscape of his hometown. Aram's work focuses on the dissemination of and ways to manipulate imagery, the better to signal revolution and revelation.”
