Still from Lost Embrace
Wednesday Feb 10, 2010 (7:30pm)
$6
Ariel (Daniel Hendler) and his mother run a lingerie shop located in downtown Buenos Aires. Curious about his Polish heritage, he longs to emigrate to the country his grandmother fled, but before he can leave, he must come to terms with why his father left to fight in Israel’s Yom Kippur War—and why he never returned. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Berlin Film Festival. (2004, 99 min. No MPAA rating. In Spanish with English subtitles.)
Filmmaker Daniel Burman will introduce the film and lead a post-screening conversation with the audience.
After the Q&A with Burman, stick around to enjoy a drink with friends and mingle with fellow audience members. A cash bar—featuring beer, wine, soft drinks, water, coffee, and tea—will be open until 10:30 p.m.
Part of the series THE FILMS OF DANIEL BURMAN at the Skirball.
