Like everywhere else in LA, except more so, the landscape of galleries and alternative exhibition spaces in Downtown is in flux, with spots opening, closing, and moving what seems like every day. What doesn't change is the monthly high tide of art lovers that literally floods the streets each second Saturday. Highlights of the February edition include Nat George at the Market Gallery, Sally Dennison's haunting digital portraits at LACDA, Mario Canali's phastasmagorical images and book release party at Downtown Art Center Gallery, Miguel Osuna's poetic renditions of the architecture and atmosphere that form the backdrop of the dreaded Angeleno commute at Bert Green Fine Art — and of course, the de rigeur Garden Party after hours at EVFA.
