Like the reflex aberration for which it's named, the Hiccup monthly reading series isn't your regular breathing exercise; it's an opportunity to air dirty laundry, gut-wrenching tales of love and loss, or other brutally honest, humorous, and/or terrifying tales of woe — all with the heartwarming security of a soundtrack. Taking place the second Saturday of every month at the Hyperion Tavern, the reading series always takes on a different theme, following Casual Encounters and Attraction/Repulsion with its third iteration, Loveless. Part literary karaoke, part spoken-word-gone-delightfully-wrong, tonight's celebration of the undersexed is appropriately matched with music by My Bloody Valentine.
