The Landmark says…

What's so funny? Tonight's Directors Close-Up panel attempts to answer this question — at least when it comes to making indie films. Sponsored by non-profit Film Independent (the same arts org responsible for the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival), the annual series, now in its tenth year, offers an opportunity to get personal with some of modern cinema's most progressive filmmakers. Moderated by Neil LaBute, director of In the Company of Men (1997), Writing and Directing Comedy features wry insights courtesy of Ruben Fleischer, director of Zombieland (2009); Don Roos, writer and director of The Opposite of Sex (1998); Mark Waters, director of The House of Yes (1997); and Mike White, writer of Chuck & Buck, which won the 2001 Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award.
