With indie films recently getting more recognition than studio-produced blockbusters, LA's self-financed film community has a window of opportunity to present original work to local audiences. Hosts of LA Talk Radio's Film Courage, David Branin and Karen Worden, bring A New Tomorrow to the Downtown Independent: an "interactive" mockumentary somewhere along the spectrum between This is Spinal Tap and The Yes Men Fix the World. The screening is followed by a Q&A with director Carey Corr and an open forum for indie filmmakers to discuss their projects and exchange ideas.

Downtown Independent Theater says…

LA Talk Radio’s Film Courage is proud to announce the third ‘Film Courage Interactive’ at the Downtown Independent on Monday, March 29th, 2010 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Film Courage co-hosts David Branin and Karen Worden will host the interactive featuring filmmaker Carey Corr’s mockumentary A New Tomorrow. A New Tomorrow skewers the Christian Right, lampoons dysfunctional democrats, takes aim at the war in Iraq, caricatures the Bush Administration, and pokes fun at how Americans vote.

The Film Courage Interactive is a two-part event. The beginning will contain a film screening with Director’s Q&A. The second part involves an in-depth discussion among fellow filmmakers/actors/writers and the like on upcoming projects, the current state of independent film and epiphanies about the business. The goal of the Film Courage Interactive is to build an appetite for independent film and bring artists together in a collaborative setting.
