Mike Watt, former bassist of San Pedro '80s punk band Minutemen, debuts his latest turn tonight: photography. The iconic rocker, who recently received a Bass Player Lifetime Achievement award from Flea, is a much-podcasted radio host, published author (his non-fiction effort Spiels of a Minuteman features all of Minutemen's lyrics), and a career that has included collaborations with a slew of rock greats (Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop, Jane's Addiction, and Nirvana to name a few).

Track 16 says: Live remote broadcast of The Watt from Pedro Show with Mike Watt, Brother Matt and guests At Track 16 Gallery, Sunday, May 16, 1-4pm. Come and go as you like! Please note, this event was rescheduled from April 25, and the exhibition has been extended through May 16 to accomodate the event.

In conjunction with our current exhibition of photographs by Mike Watt, Track 16 Gallery is pleased to present the live remote broadcast of Mike Watt's radio show podcast, "The Watt from Pedro Show" in our main space with Mike Watt, Brother Matt, and guests. Turning the tables only slightly, writer, Kristine McKenna will conduct a live interview with Watt, and discuss among other things, his current photography exhibition. Exene Cervenka will be present to play a few live tunes and converse. Artist and poet, Bob Branaman will also be on hand to keep the conversational ball rollling. There may be a few other surprise guests as well.

Generally speaking, "The Watt from Pedro Show" could be described as a conversational jam with guests, during which time Watt spins mostly newly recorded music from all over the place, assisted by Brother Matt who also "throws some spunnery on his spin cycle segment" halfway through the three hour show.
