“Forget Amsterdam, Oaksterdam, and the Rastafarians. Where else could you catch the world premiere of a musical about pot than in California's own hazy seaside enclave, Venice Beach? From the street bong-vendors to glitzy dispensaries, Venice has held a decades-long liberal view of marijuana, and the neighborhood's alt-playhouse, the Electric Lodge, is an obvious host. Co-written and conceived by Diane Shinozaki, Pot! The Musical is directed and choreographed by Keith Wright, with music by Juilliard alum Steve Huber.”
