“America's beloved commercial-free cable network, Turner Classic Movies broadcasts everything from silent-era two-reelers and vintage travelogues to rare film noirs, golden-era gems, and original programming. Now, TCM hits Tinseltown to launch its brand-new, four-day film festival with screenings, talks, and special programs, including Festival Shorts, curated by Leonard Maltin, and Fragments, a compilation of scenes from otherwise lost films from the Academy Film Archive and the UCLA Film & Television Archive.”
TCM says: Over the past 15 years, TCM has become more than a television network - it is a community of passionate classic movie fans, a place where watching great films connects people. In April 2010, we will gather to watch great movies introduced by the people who made them, listen to behind-the-scenes stories, enjoy newly restored films, and share our enthusiasm for classic cinema... at the first ever TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood.
