“Musician, playwright, and dancer Kelly Maglia merges the erotic whimsy of pole dancing with legitimate live theatre in Umbrella: A Pole Play at the Viper Room on the Sunset Strip. A mix of contemporary dance and classical ballet, the program is directed by Jamie Virostko, featuring dancers Lar Hovsepian, Jennifer Kim, Midori Murata, and Adrienne Strauss, who are joined by actors Hannah Crum and Ana Persun. Umbrella takes pole dancing to new heights, elevating the burlesque art form for audiences across the board. The performance also includes original music composed by Alex Williamson, as well as costumes by Maglia, who is the co-founder of the dance costume company, Triple Threat Dancewear. Live pole-dancing lessons follow the performance.”
