“Urban Masala is a new casual Indian restaurant in the heart of Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Opened by three gents from India, Urban Masala serves delicious, affordable Indian dishes till the wee hours (3am on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). The savory offerings include chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, chana masala, lamb curry, and aloo gobhi. The naan is baked in their two tandoori ovens, sent over from London, and there are many vegetarian and vegan items available. The dreamy desserts include rice pudding infused with cardamom, and gulab jamun, an Indian donut-like treat sweetened with rosewater. No liquor license yet – they're expecting it in late February – but in the meantime you can partake of mango lasses, chai tea, or popular glass-bottled Indian sodas like Thums Up, a cola many consider superior to Coke.”
