Bibliophiles, academics, and literary tenderfoots pore over collections from dozens of rare-book institutions at the California International Antiquarian Book Fair. Vintage reads and classic manuscripts from all over the world are for sale, with some maybe even predating Gutenberg's invention of movable type. Find first editions of modern books, or perhaps hold your breath as you gingerly flip through a 17th-century Shakespeare folio. Either way, it's better than staring at a Kindle.

The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America says…

Come join us to see, experience and purchase rare books, prints and posters, maps, illustrations, autographs, photographs and much more. Bring in your books for appraisal at Discovery Day, attend a seminar, or just browse the diverse inventory of over 200 members of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. This year the Fair is making an exciting move to the vibrant city of Pasadena. Join us at the Pasadena Convention Center, where you will find all the Exhibitor's booths conveniently located in one large room, all on one level for your ease of browsing and shopping. There will be first editions of 20th century literature, complete with dust jackets and superb illustrated books in fine condition. There will be books with remarkable typography and books with original engravings and prints by renowned masters like Rembrandt, Picasso, and Miró. At the Fair, one can browse and purchase items ranging from medieval illuminated manuscripts to a 20th century Jack Kerouac novel.
