As part of Pacific Standard Time, the Los Angeles Conservancy presents a one-time-only tour showcasing the art and architecture of Millard Sheets in Claremont and Pomona in the 1950s and 60s.
A highly influential artist and designer, Sheets is perhaps best known for his iconic, mosaic-covered Home Savings (now Chase) branch buildings throughout Southern California. He completely integrated art into the architecture he designed, creating truly unique buildings that have beautifully stood the test of time.
You can visit six historic locations, including the complex Sheets built as his own studio! After the tour is a panel discussion with artists who worked with Sheets.
You can visit the sites at your own pace, and in whatever order you choose.
